Dear Students

Placement process within the scope of International Student; Tarsus University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programmes within the framework of the Application, Admission and Registration Directive of International Students and by the International Student Admission and Evaluation Commission, within the framework of the principles determined by the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education. Placement is made with the TR-YÖS score of the candidates, which is still valid (TRNC candidates with GCE AL score do not require TR-YÖS score requirement). In order for the candidate to be placed in any programme, the TR-YÖS score must be at least 200. If there is a vacancy, the following exams and base scores recommended and approved by the Council of Higher Education to be used in the admission of international students are taken into consideration in order of priority (GCE AL, SAT, Tawjihi, Abitur).

Note: International students can change their university of enrollment only once in the same academic year.

Provided that they are in their senior year of high school or have already graduated; applications of the following candidates will be accepted:

  1. Foreign nationals, (on the condition that they have not studied / graduated from secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye [except for foreign nationals who completed their entire high school education at embassy schools / international private educational institutions within the MOBIS system, and those who came to our country within the framework of projects carried out by the Ministry of National Education or the Council of Higher Education])

  2. Those who are Turkish citizens by birth but lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining a renunciation of citizenship permit from the Ministry of Interior, as well as those who document that they hold a Blue Card issued upon request to persons who have lost Turkish citizenship (on the condition that they have not studied / graduated from secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye and the TRNC) (Candidates applying for international student admission quotas are advised to review Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901.)

  3. Those who acquired Turkish citizenship later through naturalization while being foreign nationals / dual citizens in this situation (on the condition that they have not studied / graduated from secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye and the TRNC)

  4. Turkish citizens who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country excluding the TRNC (including those who completed their entire secondary education [high school] at Turkish schools opened under the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country outside the TRNC)

  5. TRNC citizens who (on the condition that they have not studied / graduated from high schools in Türkiye / high schools implementing the Turkish curriculum in the TRNC) possess GCE AL, TR-YÖS scores, or the criteria specified in the application and admission guidelines of higher education institutions approved by the Council of Higher Education.

Applications of the following candidates shall not be accepted:

  1. Turkish citizens who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in Türkiye or the TRNC,

  2. TRNC citizens / dual citizens with one of their nationalities being TRNC who studied at / graduated from high schools in Türkiye or high schools implementing the Turkish curriculum in the TRNC,

  3. Dual citizens whose first nationality at birth was Turkish as defined in Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901 (except for those who meet the conditions specified in item 4 of paragraph a),

  4. Turkish citizens or dual citizens whose first nationality at birth was Turkish as defined in Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901, who studied at schools within the embassies in Türkiye or at foreign high schools located in Türkiye,

    • a) TRNC citizens and those who renounced Turkish citizenship / Blue Card holders who studied at / graduated from secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye and the TRNC,

    • b) Foreign nationals who studied at / graduated from secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye (except for foreign nationals who completed their entire high school education at embassy schools / international private educational institutions within the MOBIS system, and those who came to our country within the framework of projects carried out by the Ministry of National Education or the Council of Higher Education).

Applications to our university will be received electronically. Applications received in person or by post will not be considered. All application documents uploaded to the system must be approved by the Turkish Representatives or relevant institutions and organizations for applications made electronically. Approvals made in translation offices will not be considered. If any of these documents are missing or contain incorrect information, the candidate's application will be declared null and void.

Application Documents;

a) For the candidates who completed their secondary education outside the Republic of Turkey, equivalence certificate to be obtained from the national education directorates in Turkey and from the educational consultancies/attaché offices abroad, (Temporary registration of the candidates who do not have an Equivalence Certificate among the candidates who have the right to final registration to the programmes of our university is made, and 1 month additional time is given to bring the equivalence certificate. Candidates who have temporary registration cannot register for courses in the relevant semester. b) A copy of the original high school diploma of the candidates who are in graduation status, translated into Turkish, certified by a notary public or the Embassy / Consulate of the Republic of Turkey, (Candidates who are studying in the last year of high school will bring a certified document that they can graduate).
c) A notarised copy of the original transcript of the transcript approved by the Embassy / Consulate of the Republic of Turkey or a notarised copy of the transcript,
ç) Foreign Language Proficiency Certificate (if any),
d) Turkish Proficiency Certificate (if any),
e) Passport or original identity card taken from official authorities,
f) Proof of valid health insurance (GHI or private health insurance covering the duration of the residence permit request) or a declaration of general health insurance coverage, (Click here for the Statement of Assurance.)
g) 6 biometric photographs,
ğ) Original GCE AL exam result certificate of TRNC national candidates who completed their entire secondary education in TRNC high schools,
 h) Other special documents required by the departments and programmes for final registration, if any,
 ı) TR- YÖS result certificate or other exam result certificate, 
i) For foreigners under 18 years of age; for those arriving with a visa exemption or with a visa for a different purpose; the document containing the information of the parent/guardian (birth certificate, family certificate, etc.) and the consent given by the parent/guardian/legal representative (for those arriving with a visa suitable for the purpose (study visa); the consent and the document containing the information of the parent/guardian will not be attached). 
 j) Residence permit document, 
       jj) In addition to the above documents, candidates who do not have a residence permit should bring the following documents;
           1. Residence permit registration/application form (wet signed by the student),
           2. A document showing the address where he/she will stay,
          - If he/she is staying in his/her own home, a copy of the title deed (for extension applications, ‘certificate of residence and invoice’ is sufficient), 
          - Notarised copy of the lease agreement if staying with a lease agreement 
          - If staying in a hotel, etc., a document stating that you have stayed in these places
          - If staying in student dormitories, a certificate of residence in the dormitory 
        - Notarised commitment of the person staying with the sponsor if the sponsor is staying with him/her (If the sponsor is married, also notarised commitment of his/her spouse)
          3. Receipt of payment of the residence permit document fee.

Evaluation of the applications of the candidates is made within the framework of Article 9 of the Principles Regarding the Admission of Foreign Students to Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programs of our University. Candidates whose applications have been accepted will be able to obtain their acceptance letters through the online application system. Relevant institutions and organizations will be able to confirm the accuracy of acceptance letters through YÖKSİS.

During the final registration process, the originals of the documents uploaded to the online application system will be requested from the candidates. Candidates who do not submit the originals of the documents will not be registered.

Turkish language proficiency of candidates is evaluated according to the Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate given by the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center of Tarsus University and Yunus Emre Institute, the Turkish education certificate given by the Embassies of the Republic of Türkiye or the documents they receive from the Turkish Teaching Centers affiliated with the Universities of the Republic of Türkiye. The Turkish language of the candidates who completed their secondary education in Turkish high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education is considered sufficient. Students who do not have a Turkish proficiency certificate, who fail the Turkish Proficiency and Placement Exam to be held by our university, or who do not attend the exam, have to take Turkish preparatory education.
